The playoffs begin this weekend with Portland being the No. 1 seed in the Class A North bracket. In the opening round of the Class A South, No. 2 Thornton Academy, the state’s reigning Class A champ, plays South Portland. In the other quarterfinal, No. 3 Bonny Eagle plays No. 4 Noble.
