Corner Canyon is now a back-to-back Utah state champ. Thursday, the Chargers, ranked No. 17 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, beat No. 49 Lone Peak 30-27 for the program’s second straight 6A championship.

CC trailed 21-7 before scoring 23 unanswered points at Rice-Eccles Stadium at the University of Utah.

The come-from-behind win avenged the Chargers only defeat of the year on August 30 when they lost to Lone Peak 28-21. That loss came one week after the Chargers beat national power IMG Academy (Florida).

Corner Canyon has now played in seven straight state championship games, winning five of them.

The win was also the 100th in head coach Eric Kjar’s career at Corner Canyon.
