Needham beat Wellsley 20-13 Thursday in the 137th renewal of the oldest Thanksgiving high school football rivalry that dates back to 1882. The Rockets decided to play its starters, instead of resting them for the December 5 Massachusetts Division 1 Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots.

The Needham win closes the game in the all-time series still led by Wellesley 66-62-9.
