Allen continues its climb in the High School Football America Texas Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Eagles, who won three straight HSFA national championships from 2012 through 2014, is up a notch to No. 9 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
Last week, Allen beat former No. 18 Euless Trinity 22-21, which drops the Trojans to No. 19. This week in the state quarterfinals, the Eagles will face No. 3 North Crowley.
In another Top 25 head-to-head in 6A Division I, No. 2 North Shore and No. 4 Atascocita will meet for the second time this year. Back on October 25, NS picked-up a come-from-behind 27-23 victory.
No. 8 Westlake and No. 10 Lake Travis will also play a Part II this weekend. Westlake won the first meeting 28-16 on October 25.
Vandegrift moves up five spots to No. 16 this week after beating former No. 13 Cibolo Steele in the Class 6A Division II playoffs. Next up for the Vipers is San Antonio Harlan in the state quarterfinals.
