Avon is celebrating its first-ever Ohio high school football championship. Thursday night, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, the Eagles beat Anderson 20-13 in a battle between to 15-0 teams ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

This one wasn’t decided until the final play when No. 59 Avon knocked-down an Anderson pass in the end zone.

Anderson, ranked No. 167 nationally, was looking for its second overall state championship. The Raptors only title was in 2007.
