Five-time Texas high school football champ North Shore, ranked No. 6 in the High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, won’t playing for another title in AT&T Stadium next week. Saturday, No. 32 Westlake beat the Mustangs 35-10 in the Class 6A Division I state semifinals, ending the school’s run of three consecutive appearances in the state finals.
It was revenge for Westlake, who lost to North Shore in the state semis in 2022 and 2023.
Quarterback Rees Weiss threw three touchdown passes and ran for another in the victory at Katy’s Legacy Stadium.
Next week, Westlake will play North Crowley for the championship in the state’s largest classification. NC beat two-time defending 6A-I championship Duncanville Saturday in the other state semi.
Duncanville and North Shore had played in the last three 6A-I finals.
