California’s Mater Dei wraps up this year’s High School Football America national championship, powered by NFL Play Football, in the penultimate HSFA 300 for the the 2024 season. The Monarchs closed-out a perfect 13-0 season Saturday night by beating No. 25 De La Salle for the California Open Division championship.

Mater Dei High School Football America national champs for 2024

It’s the fifth HSFA national championship for Mater Dei since 2017. This year’s performance is probably the strongest, considering all thirteen wins were against teams inside the Top 300.

With MD wrapping up the national title, No. 2 Milton’s national championship dreams end. However, the No. 2 Eagles can finish as the No. 1 public school in America, if they beat No. 51 Langston Hughes Tuesday in the Georgia 5A championship game.

There’s a big shake-up in the Top 25 after No. 4 Duncanville and No. 6 North Shore lost in the Texas 6A Division I state semifinals on Saturday.

North Crowley, who beat Duncanville 36-34, is up ten spots to No. 6 this week. The Panthers will play No. 18 Westlake for the 6A-I title this weekend. Westlake climbs 14 spots after knocking-off former No. 6 North Shore 35-10.

Those two Texas losses help Venice make a seven spot jump this week to No. 4 after winning the Florida 7A championship on Saturday.
