Mater Dei finishes No. 1 in the High School Football America Private Schools 100 for 2024

No surprise at the top of the final 2024 High School Football America Private Schools 100, powered by NFL Play Football. National champ Mater Dei (California) is the top private school in the nation after a perfect 13-0 season.

Mater Dei edges No. 2 Bishop Gorman on the strength of its 31-15 defeat of the Gaels on September 6. In the national rankings, Gorman finished No. 3, their closest finish to the top since winning the HSFA national title in 2016.

Ten of Mater Dei’s thirteen wins came against teams finishing in the Private Schools 100. Two of those ten came against Trinity League rival St. John Bosco, which finishes No. 3.

All six Trinity League teams finish highly-ranked. Behind Mater Dei and Bosco are Orange Lutheran at No. 8, JSerra at No. 19, Santa Margarita at No. 21 and Servite at No. 23.

The Trinity League is the No. 1 high school football league in America.

Four-time New Jersey Non-Public A champ Bergen Catholic finishes No. 4, followed by No. 5 St. Frances Academy (Maryland) at No. 6, IMG Academy (Florida) at No. 6 and Florida 1A champ Chaminade-Madonna is No. 7. C-M has won four straight Florida high school football championships.

After OLu at No. 8 is Florida 4A champ American Heritage (Plantation) at No. 9.

After winning its state-record sixth straight Florida state title, St. Thomas Aquinas rounds at the Top 10 at No. 10.
