Fort Cherry two-way stare Matt Sieg (Class of 2026) will represent the Pittsburgh Steelers next month’s Nike’s Next Ones, a one-day football combine that will be held in New Orleans before Super Bowl LIX. Each National Football League team, plus Europe’s NFL Academy, selects a high school player, who will take part in the event they where they will showcase their talents and receive guidance from NFL Legends and elite mentors. At last year’s event in Las Vegas, Pro Football Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson and Michael Vick were part of the VIP experience for 34 high schoolers.

Sieg, who has given his verbal commitment to Penn State as a defensive back, quarterbacked Fort Cherry to this past season’s Pennsylvania Class 1A state semifinals. He passed for 1,345 yards and 20 touchdowns and ran for 1,832 yards and 32 scores.

In November, Sieg, a 4-star college football prospect, led Fort Cherry to its second straight WPIAL championship at Acrisure Stadium, home of the Steelers.
