The Arizona Cardinals have chosen Brophy Prep wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald for the Nike’s Next Ones, a one-day combine that will be held prior to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. Devin is the son of future Pro Football Hall of Fame receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who caught 1,432 balls for 17,492 yards and 121 touchdowns during his 17-year career with the Cards.

Each National Football League team, plus Europe’s NFL Academy, selects a high school player, who will take part in the event where they will showcase their talents and receive guidance from NFL Legends and elite mentors. At last year’s event in Las Vegas, Pro Football Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson and Michael Vick were part of the VIP experience for 34 high schoolers.

This past season, Fitzgerald led his team with 52 catches for 720 yards with nine touchdowns. The senior-to-be in 2025 has almost 20 college scholarship offers.

Last year, Brophy Prep finished No. 216 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Broncos finished 10-3, losing in the Class 6A state semifinals.
