Remember David Sills, the 13 year old, 7th grade QB from Delaware who committed to Lane Kiffin at USC in 2010?
Sills, who is now considered a 4-star quarterback heading into his senior year at Eastern Christian Academy in Maryland, says he will play his college ball at West Virginia. Sills took back his four year old verbal last month. Kiffin, of course, was fired from USC last year and is now the offensive coordinator at Alabama.
Sills has had a solid high school career, but hasn’t really lived-up to the hype surrounding his original verbal commitment. According to his stats on MaxPreps.com, since 8th grade, Sills has completed 375 of 585 passes (64.1%) for 5,197 yards for 55 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
This year Sills and his teammates will be tested by a very tough national schedule that includes Texas powers Coppell, DeSoto and Euless Trinity, plus games agaisnt Ohio power St. Edward and New Jersey’s Paramus Catholic and St. Peter’s Prep. This year’s schedule includes teams that combined for a 2013 record of 105-32.
Last year, Eastern Christian finished 9-3.
