The state championship games in Mississippi are moving out of Jackson after two decades.
Beginning this December, the Mississippi High School Activities Association’s championship games will begin an every other year rotation with Mississippi State and Ole Miss sharing the hosting duties. Mississippi State will host this year and in 2016…Ole Miss will be the host site in 2015 and 2017.
The Clarion-Ledger reports the move out of Jackson will cost the city about $1 million in economic benefit a year.
