Another week, another nationally-ranked New Jersey team beaten and another move-up in the latest High School Football America National Top 25 for IMG Academy. IMG’s 24-12 win over former #15 St. Joseph Regional Friday night, pushed the Ascenders from #16 to #12 this week.
The other upward mover this week is American Heritage from Plantation, Florida which moves up one notch to #21.
Mainland, which hadn’t moved out of its #17 position in our preseason poll, slipped a notch to #18 in our rankings, based on our proprietary algorithm that is based on twelve criteria. This week, the Buccaneers will have a chance to win the spot back and possibly move higher when they face the team that leaped over them — St. Edward from Ohio on Saturday. The Eagles are #17 this week.
The only other Florida team in the Top 25, St. Thomas Aquinas, was idle and held at #6.
