The Marines get ready to lead the Lubbock Westerners onto the field Saturday before the Andrews game.

Two weeks into this and two weeks of disappointment. The key words here are – two weeks. We have eight weeks left. Season isn’t over. Not even close. Everything we want is right in front of us. We can still obtain it all.

WHAT WENT WRONG

Mostly, everything went wrong on Saturday. We were not good in any phase of the game. Sure, we did some good things. But overall we fell flat. It starts with me and ends with me. I need to do a better job of getting us ready. Give Andrews credit. They played a heck of a game and controlled both sides of the ball. Their QB is a good one.

Not much left to say in this one. Turn the page and move on.

BIG LOSS

On the first series against Andrews, Jordan High broke his collar bone. The play looked innocent enough. Caught a little screen pass. Picked up five yards and tackled out of bounds. The problem was he came down on his shoulder. Broken.

Jordan continued to play. He finished the drive. He even continued on as our snapper when we ran a fake field goal. Talk about tough. He battled.

Losing Jordan is a big blow. He is 6’4″. A complete mismatch against opponents. He had a heck of an offseason. In two scrimmages he was fantastic. We lost a key piece for six weeks. But knowing Jordan, he will be back in a big way.
