Week 3 is here and we are off and running.  And running.  And running some more.  It’s a busy time of year.  We don’t have time to fall subject to having a “case of the Monday’s.”  We just need to push through everything thrown at us.

My coaches are also teachers.  Therefore, they are back on duty as teachers first.  They have roughly a week and a half of professional development.   They are in the throes of that right now.

They are in professional development from 8:00am until 4:00pm.  They then drive over to Chapman and get ready for practice.  We hit the field at 4:30pm.  It is a relentless schedule.

It’s makes it tough on scheduling and keeping them fresh.  But, it’s the system we have and we just need to make the best of it.

So Monday was and crazy and the rest of the week will be too.  The kids had a decent practice today and the coaches pushed them hard.  We will not let up.

I just hope the coaches and players are getting some much needed rest tonight.

Friday Scrimmage

This Friday we scrimmage the Plainview Bulldogs.  They are always a formidable foe.  Tough kids up there.  They run the Wing-T and run it well.  It is going to be a challenge for us.  A good challenge.  It’s going to be good to see some Wing-T action.

It’s our last tune-up on Friday.  I have some clear objectives, which I will talk about later in the week.  Looking forward to another Friday of competitive football.

Randomness

-Social media makes it easy to pick on people, even Olympic athletes.  I read today where Gabby Douglas was toasted by Internet tough guys and Twitter heroes all week.  Clowns.

-Still waiting to find out if a 5-star recruit was stripped of an offer for a social media post.  I’m guessing it has never happened. More to come on this topic and the hypocrisy of it all.

Aaron Judge is swinging a hot bat for the Yanks right now.

-Beach volleyball is fun to watch.

-I cut the tags off mattresses.

I’m too tired to write or come-up with any witty Randomness entires.  Gonna have to bug out.  Can’t even buzz the tower tonight.

FIO.
