Wednesday has come and gone.  See ya! Just like that we are heading into Thursday and our final walk-throughs before we roll on out to Seminole.

We spent most of the day today polishing up our checks, adjustments, routes etc.  Also, we have spent a lot of time the past two days working special teams.  We cannot leave a stone un-turned.  We are making sure we are ready in every phase.  We will be in bright and early tomorrow working more special teams.  It’s just an evil necessity at this point. Cramming everything in we can.

Overall, today was a solid day.  I have said it again and again, this team is the most consistent we have had.  They give us everything we are asking for on a daily basis.  No ego.  No complaining.  Just effort, attitude and they push their conditioning.  Control the three phases you can control.  They have done that so far.

It’s almost time to put this to the real test.

Where Does All The Time Go?

It feels like I spend all day chasing my tail.  There just isn’t enough time in the day.  I’m in the office at 7:15am or so and it just goes by like a blur.  All of a sudden it’s 7:30pm and am I have driving home.

I’m going to spend my day chronicling all my moves tomorrow.  This should be entertaining.  I think it will make a good blog read, so I’m going to do it.

Well, there you have that.

Captain Update

I wrote about captains in a previous blog.  This team is just rolling along as one unit so I haven’t felt a need to nominate or select captains.  They have been on cohesive unit so I haven’t felt a need to select any…until Tuesday.

Yes, I named a captain yesterday.  Why?  My gut feeling in the middle of a practice told me to do so. This guy is all effort, all attitude and the team looks up to him.  I can see it.  I saw it yesterday in a drill.  So after some drills and during a water-break I called the team together.  I told them what I though and named this kid a captain…permanently.

A three-year starter, he has overcome injuries each year.  He is arguably our toughest kid and you just cannot outwork him on the field.  I just felt this was the right fit with this team.  Right time, right spot. So I’m going with my gut feeling.

Congratulations, Blake Robbins!  Well deserved!

I have my eye on a few others too. We will see what happens.

Randomness

-Hard Knocks with the Rams is quality entertainment and hits the football fix you need at night.

-People who complain, probably wake up and complain that they woke up.  FIO.

-Listened to some Stone Temple Pilots today before practice.  Hit the spot!

Nate Gensler is an intense DC during practice.

-I saw Quniton Tarantino (or however you spell it) when on vacation in California. He is the Pulp Fiction guy.  Got the obligatory head nod from him.

-I saw a guy fishing today using a marble rye as bait.  It may have been Max Kattwinkle.

Neal Tull uses bacon grease as creamer in his coffee.

Game day is fast approaching.  That is all I have to say about that.

FIO.
