Living in Southern California teaches you a thing-or-two about earthquakes. I say that because there’s been a seismic shift in High School Football America’s The Other 25 national rankings, which are based on our proprietary algorithm.

Not one team is in the same position as last week and there are also three new teams in our National Top 50.

The biggest movers this week…with a bullet…Hoover (Alabama) and St. Ignatius (Ohio).

St. Ignatius is knocking on the Top 25 door at #26.  The Wildcats move-up eleven spots this week after beating St. Edward, for the second time this year, in the Ohio Division 1 state quarterfinals.  Hoover moves-up twelve to #35 and will play #9 McGill-Toolen for the 7A state championship.

Also moving within striking distance of the Top 25 are Cocoa (Florida) at #27 and Saguaro (Arizona) at #28.  Cocoa, whose only loss was to #1 Bishop Gorman (Nevada), will take-on four-time Florida 4A state champ Booker T. Washington in the state semifinals this weekend.  BTW has been a Top 50 team, at times, throughout the season, climbing as high as #8 in early September.  Saguaro will play Catalina Foothills for Arizona’s Class 4A title this weekend.  Back on September 2nd, Saguaro beat Catalina Foothills 35-0.

New to the Top 50 this week are Union (Oklahoma) at #44, Carol City (Florida) at #46, Rancho Cucamonga (California) at #47 and East (Utah) at #48.
