Mater Dei climbs to No. 1 in the first in-season High School Football America California Top 25 that is created with our proprietary algorithm.  The Monarchs opened the season with a 31-7 win over preseason No. 21 Bishop Amat.  This week, the Monarchs square-off with national power and defending High School Football America “mythical” national champ Bishop Gorman (Nevada) and its 55 game win streak.

Preseason No. 1 St. John Bosco falls one spot after a 9-3 overtime loss to Florida-power St. Thomas Aquinas.

On Saturday, No. 3 Corona Centennial will have a chance to improve itself in our algorithm rankings when it plays IMG Academy in a rematch of last year’s heart-stopping 50-49 game.

Del Oro busts into the rankings at No. 17 after taking-down defending CIF Division IA champ Cathedral Catholic, which began the season ranked No. 16 in our preseason California Top 25.

Also new to the rankings this week — Bakersfield at No. 22 and Mission Hills at No. 24.

Folsom is the biggest mover this week, jumping five spots to No. 19 after a win over Idaho’s Coeur d’Alene.

A big one to watch this week within the Top 25 is No. 5 Narbonne squaring-off with No. 7 Long Beach Poly.
