Lots of our readers wonder why the CIF San Diego Section isn’t included in our Southern California Top 25.  The short answer is that we’re based in Orange County and consider the CIF Southern and LA City Sections to be our home base. BUT, with that being sad, we listen and today we’ve decided to launch a San Diego-area Top 20 that is based on our proprietary algorithm.

The top team is Mission Hills, which is currently ranked No. 15 in our California Top 25.

Falling-in behind the Grizzlies is Helix, which a couple of weeks ago cracked our national Top 100 before losing to Paraclete.  This week, the Highlanders will take-on No. 11 St. Augustine in one five games within the Top 25.  The other games — top-ranked Mission Hills will be at home against No. 18 Oceanside; No. 7 La Costa Canyon plays No. 9 Carlsbad; No. 14 Point Loma takes-on No. 17 Olympian; and in a battle of unbeatens, No. 6 El Camino faces No. 8 San Marcos;
