Mater Dei (California), ranked No. 1 in the High School Football America Top 100 national rankings, had both the passing and running games working Friday night in the Monarchs 70-35 win over Santa Margarita (California) in the Trinity League opener for both teams.
According to OCVarsity.com, junior quarterback JT Daniels completed 21 of 24 passes for 326 yards and six touchdowns. Both CJ Parks and Amon-Ra St. Brown topped the 100 yard receiving mark with both catching two TD passes.
OCVaristy.com reports that MD ran for 274 yards in the first half with Shakobe Harper leading the way with 136 yards on ten carries.
Mater Dei (6-0, 1-0 Trinity) will now begin preparing for its showdown Friday night against No. 16 St. John Bosco (5-1, 1-0 Trinity), which beat Orange Lutheran Friday night 42-21.
