After six straight Nevada state football titles, Bishop Gorman head coach Tony Sanchez is graduating to college.  Sanchez is leaving Gorman to take the head coaching job at UNLV.

Sanchez leaves the Gaels after amassing an 85-5 record, which included an undefeated record against in-state opponents. He also sent 25 of his players on to Division I football programs.

According to ESPN, Sanchez is believed to be the fifth high school head coach to jump directly into a college head coaching position.

The other three?

Todd Dodge, who went from Southlake Carroll in Texas to the head coaching position at North Texas; Gerry Faust from Archbishop Moeller in Ohio to Notre Dame; Bob Commings, who left Massillon Washington High School in Ohio to become the head coach at Iowa; and Jim Bradley left Mayfield High in New Mexico to become the head coach at New Mexico St. in 1973
