Hamilton has hired Mike Zdebski as its new head football coach. Zdebski, who still must be approved by the Chandler district governing board, according to AZCentral.com, is a Michigan High School Football Hall of Fame coach with 203 victories.
Zbedski has been at Walled Lake Western since 1994 when he started as an assistant coach. In 1999, he became the program’s head coach, leading the school to Michigan’s Division 1 state championship.
Zbedski takes over Hamilton, which has been struggling since last year when several players were arrested for alleged sexual assault on teammates in a hazing ritual. The scandal cost head coach Steve Belles his job. Belles led Hamilton to five of its seven state titles.
Last year under interim head coach Dick Baniszewski, the Huskies went 8-4, finishing No. 7 in the High School Football America Arizona Top 10.
