Ensworth head coach resigns after seven overall Tennessee state championships

Ricky Bowers, the man that started the football program at Ensworth, is stepping down after winning seven Tennessee high school football state championships during his career at two schools.  Assistant coach Jeremy Garrett has been named the school’s new head coach.

Bowers started the Ensworth program in 2004, winning four straight Division II-AA state championships from 2010 through 2013.  From 1998 to 2000, he won three straight state titles at Montgomery Bell Academy.

Bowers retires with a 192-47 lifetime record.
