J.T. Curtis of Louisiana is second on the all-time wins list.
It’s been a month since California and Texas closed-out the 2014 season, so we thought this week would be a good time to start updating some of our all-time lists. Today, we’ll start with all-time coaching victories.
There’s no change at the top and won’t be until John McKissick at Summerville High School in South Carolina decides to call it quits. McKissick, who completed his 63rd year as a head coach in 2014, finished 8-5 in 2014. McKissick now owns 621 lifetime victories.
The man that could catch him one day is John Curtis‘ J.T. Curtis, who closed the gap on McKissick by four wins last season. The Patriots 12-2 season gives Curtis 542 lifetime wins or 79 wins behind the South Carolina legend.
The most amazing thing about the list is that 12 of the top 20 on the list are still active. Nine of those on the list below have been guests on the High School Football America radio show. Three coaches – Dick Henzes (Pennsylvania), Bud Wright (Indiana) and Bob Milloy (Maryland) will have a chance to join the exclusive 400 Wins Club in 2015.
