No. 47 Highland Park beats No. 63 Denton Ryan for a shot at Texas high school football three-peat

Highland Park is heading back to AT&T Stadium next week for its third straight Texas high school football championship game. The two-time champion Scots, ranked No. 47 in the latest High School Football America 100 national rankings, beat No. 63 Denton Ryan Saturday 43-21 in the Class 5A Division I state semifinals. It’s the third straight year that HP defeated Ryan in the state semis.

Quarterback Chandler Morris tossed three touchdown passes to Bennett Brown. He also ran for three scores.

Highland Park will play the winner of Saturday night’s game between Alvin Shadow Creek and San Antonio Wagner.
