Louisville’s Ballard High School football team will be road warriors this year. The Courier-Journal is reporting that Pat Crawford Stadium’s home concrete grandstands are unsafe and need to be repaired.
“There is considerable water damage and deterioration along the supports that hold up the poured concrete-seating platform that endangers the structural integrity of the entire stadium.”
Ballard Athletic Director Chris Kinney, Courier-Journal
The newspaper reports that the school will replace the concrete with aluminum stands.
Ballard, which opens the 2019 season on the road Friday night against Doss, has moved its August 30 home opener to Male High School. The team’s other four home games against Christian Academy, Fern Creek, Trinity and Scott County will all be switched away from Pat Crawford Stadium.

The school hopes to have the new stands in-place for 2020.
