The No. 1 Mater Dei vs. No. 2 St. John Bosco SoCal Showdown remains on-course as we head into October. The October 25th Trinity League battle will decide which team has the inside track to the 2019 High School Football America “mythical” national championship.
Mater Dei’s solid win in our nation’s capital Friday night has the Monarchs controlling their own destiny for a third straight national crown.

The biggest change in the latest High School Football America 100 is near the top where Maryland’s St. Frances Academy climbs four spots to No. 4 after a sound 28-0 shutout of former No. 4 St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, New Jersey). The Panthers only loss was to top-ranked Mater Dei.
Aside from the Mater Dei/St. John Bosco clash, the October 18th battle between No. 3 IMG Academy and St. Frances will also go a long way to deciding the national championship chase.
There are three new teams in the rankings this week — Catholic (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) at No. 81, Byrnes (South Carolina) at No. 97 and Maryville (Tennessee) at No. 99.
