This year will mark the eighth time that the two have met. Ryan leads the all-time series with four wins to three for Guyer.
Last season, Guyer lost to Westlake in the 6A Division II championship, finishing No. 50 in the High School Football America 100. Ryan finished No. 47 nationally after losing to Shadow Creek in the 5A Division I championship.
It was the first time since 1962 that two schools from the same school district played in state championship games.
