Donnie Yantis is the new head football coach at Valor Christian. He replaces former NFL wide receiver Ed McCaffrey, who resigned last month to take the head coaching job at Northern Colorado.
Yantis comes to the Eagles with lots of college football on his resume. Last year, he was the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator at Arizona State. Before that, he was the head coach at Arizona Christian, an NAIA school.
“It’s with great excitement the Valor Community announces that Donnie Yantis will be our next head football coach,” said Brian Bonn, Valor Christian’s Athletic Director on the school’s website. “Coach Yantis is an unbelievable mentor to his players and comes with a wealth of football knowledge from the high school level all the way to NCAA Division I level. Donnie’s desire to be more than a coach and be a supporter for all things that are Valor Christian is exactly what we need in our community. His heart for the Lord is pure and he will continue our mission of preparing tomorrow’s leaders to transform the world for Christ through the game of football.”

My goal as your head football coach is to build upon the success of the program by reinforcing the championship culture at Valor, and to elevate it by integrating my years of knowledge and experience in coaching and leading young men, to be the best they can be both on and off the field. On the high school level, Yantis coached at Glendale and Paradise Valley high schools in Arizona where he was 94-70 in 13 seasons.
Yantis becomes the fourth head coach for Valor Christian, which has won eight Colorado state football championships. Brent Vieselmeyer was the program first coach from 2008 through 2012. Rod Sherman led the Eagles from 2013 to 2017. McCaffrey took-over in 2018.
