There’s nothing really that unusual that Mitchell Parsley is the new Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at his alma mater in Crowell, Texas. However, when you throw-in the fact that he is only 23-years old, you begin to get the picture why I reached-out to him to talk about being one of the youngest, if not the youngest head coach, in the high school football-crazed state of Texas.

Parsley returns home to the town where he is known as the guy that led Crowell to back-to-back Texas 6-man high school football state championships as the school’s quarterback. He then went-on to play quarterback Wayland Baptist University where he had to adapt the the 11-man game. At the Plainview, Texas school, Parsley set school records for passing yards and touchdowns. In 30 games, he completed 447-of-858 passes for 6,347 yards with 49 touchdowns.
A couple of weeks after Parsley’s last collegiate game, Parsley started his new career at Crowell High on December 2.
