With a national television audience looking-on, defending 7A state champion Thompson, ranked No. 1 in the High School Football America Alabama Top 10, beat No. 2 Hewitt-Trussville 35-21 Friday night.
Junior quarterback Conner Harrell had another big game, completing 17-of 23 passes for 325 yards with three touchdowns. Ryan Peppins caught six of those balls with 136 yards and two TD’s.
