Defending Division 2 state champ Mona Shores is up one spot to No. 2 in the latest High School Football America Michigan Top 10. The Sailors move-up comes after the Sailors beat former No. 2 Muskegon 21-14 Friday night. The road victory at the Hackley Stadium, home of Michigan’s all-time winningest program, was the first since 2014 for Mona Shores.
The Sailors were led by senior quarterback Brady Rose, all 5-7, 175-pounds of him. Rose threw two touchdowns and ran for another in the victory. He completed 6-of-11 passes for 118 yards, plus ran for 105.
Muskegon drops two spots to No. 4 this week. Belleville moves-up a spot to No. 3 after blasting Fordson 69-0.
The rest of the Top 10 was shaken-up by former No. 5 River Rouge’s 21-6 loss to East Lansing. The defending Division 3 champs, who won the 2019 state title beat Muskegon, drop-out of the statewide rankings.
East Lansing moves into the Top 10 at No. 10.
