Sayreville Bombers footballNJ.com reports that the Sayreville Board of Education has spared the teaching job of former Sayreville War Memorial High School head football coach George Najjar.

Najjar, who was let go earlier this month because of the hazing scandal within his program, learned that he will retain his job, but will be transferred to a different school within the district.  NJ.com reports that in addition to the transfer, Najjar will lose his scheduled incremental salary increases for the 2015-16 school year.

Najjar has been suspended with pay since last October when the story grabbed national headlines.

The school district is currently searching for a new head coach.
