What that means to the latest rankings is that Preseason No. 1 and defending Class 6 champ De Smet returns to No. 1 this week. Also returning is Christian Brothers College, aka CBC, at No. 2.
De Smet hasn’t been able to find a game for this week, but CBC will play Saturday against Northwest-Cedar Hill. It’s expected that De Smet will play next week.
Defending Class 2A champ Lutheran North also moves back into the rankings at No. 10. LN opens the season against MICDS.
Looking back at last week, former No. 1 Raymore-Peculiar dropped its first game, losing to Lee’s Summit West 34-27, which moves LSW one spot to No. 5 this week. Coming-up this week, Lee’s Summit West will play No. 9 Rockhurst.
