The first two weeks of the 2021 season left the High School Football America Midwest Region Top 25 intact from the preseason rankings, for the most part. Center Grove (Indiana) and St. Xavier (Ohio) remain No. 1 and No. 2 respectively.

Center Grove, which is ranked No. 11 in the High School Football America 100 powered by NFL Play Football, will test that ranking this week when it plays No. 7 Carmel. Even though its only Week 3 in Indiana, this one should decide the Metropolitan Interscholastic Association.

Carmel has had a great start with back-to-back come-from-behind wins over nationally-ranked teams — then No. 15 Trinity (Kentucky) and then No. 175 Detroit MLK (Michigan). Those wins have moved Carmel up to No. 52 in our national rankings.

The other big game in the region finds No. 4 La Salle (Ohio) hosting defending national champ IMG Academy (Florida). That game can be seen on FloFootball.

In another big interstate battle, No. 17 De Smet (Missouri) travels to No. 14 East St. Louis (Illinois). ESL opened with a come-from-behind last minute 48-44 win over No. 18 Christian Brothers College HS (Missouri)

The Midwest Region is made-up of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
