After a year off, the High School Football America Top 5, powered by NFL Play Football, is back.
Thornton Academy begins the season ranked No. 1 in the state. When high school football was last played in Maine, the Trojans finished runner-up in Class A. Defending Class A champ Bonny Eagle starts at No. 3.
Thornton Academy and Bonny Eagle will meet on October 1.
Speaking of big matchups, this week, Thornton Academy faces No. 2 Marshwood, winners of the last three Class B high school football state championships.
