Katie Lindsay made history Thursday in Van Meter’s 17-14 win over West Sioux in the Iowa Class 1A championship game.The sophomore kicker booted a 27-yard field goal with 7:21 to go in the game that gave Van Meter a 17-7 lead. Lindsay also knocked home her two extra point tries.
It was the first-time in Iowa high school football history that a female scored points in a state championship game.
