After Super Bowl losses in 2009 and 2016, Marblehead High School is now a Massachusetts high school football champ. Thursday at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots, the Magicians beat North Attleboro 35-28 for the Division 3 state championship.
Junior wide receiver Connor Cronin and senior quarterback Joshua Robertson led the way for Marblehead. Robertson completed 14-of-18 passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown. Cronin caught ten of those passes for 263 yards and three of the touchdowns.

The game was tied at 28-28 with over four minutes to play. That’s when Robertson and Cronin hooked-up on an 83-yard catch-and-carry for the game winning score.

Marblehead closes-out the season with a perfect 12-0 record. The Magicians also own the state longest active win streak at 20 straight.
