New Miami Central High School head football coach Jube Joseph has some big shoes to fill. Earlier this week, the Rockets announced that Joseph was being promoted from defensive coordinator to replace Roland Smith, who led the school to six Florida high school football championships.

Smith, the 2014 High School Football America National High School Football Coach of the Year, left the school to join the University of Miami (Florida) football support staff.

Below, Coach Joseph talks with NationalHSFB.com about taking-over the Rockets, who finished No. 16 last year in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Rockets’ only losses in a 12-2 season came at the hands of No. 8 St. John’s Bosco (California) and No. 15 Bishop Gorman (Nevada).
