Bishop Gorman, ranked No. 16 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, is back on-top in Nevada high school football. Thursday at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, the Gaels beat McQueen 56-7 to capture the state’s first-ever 5A championship.
Gorman’s state title is its 11th in the last thirteen years. In 2019, Liberty snapped BG’s run of 10 straight state titles. There was no championship in 2020 due to COVID-19.
The Gaels finish the season 12-1. The team’s defense was outstanding, only allowing 100 points all season.
