St. John Bosco (California) is the top high school football team in America over heading into the 10th year of the HSFA algorithm

2019 High School Football America national champ St. John Bosco (Bellflower, California) is the best high school football program in the nation since 2013. That’s according to a Power Ranking we’ve put together to celebrate the upcoming 10th anniversary of the HSFA rankings algorithm.

The Braves have been in our Top 25 in eight of the nine years. Bosco missed the Top 25 during the 2020-21 COVID year when it only played six-games during California’s spring season. In addition to the ’19 national title, Bosco’s resume includes two runner-up finishes (2013 and 2016) and a No. 3 ranking in 2018.

Falling-in behind St. John Bosco is Trinity League arch-rival Mater Dei. The Monarchs, who won national titles in 2017, 2018 and last season, haven’t missed the Top 25 since 2015.
