William Floyd breaks into the latest High School Football America New York Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. The Colonials, who are ranked No. 10 this week, will play Commack this week in the Suffolk County (Long Island) Division I semifinals. If they will this week, it could set-up a rematch with No. 9 Walt Whitman in the county finals.

Walt Whiteman plays Ward Mellville in the other semifinal this week. Back on October 2, Walt Whiteman handed William Floyd its only loss (27-0) of the year.

William Floyd’s entrance into the Top 10 was made possible by No. 6 Shaker’s first loss of the season. The Bison lost to Shenendehowa 17-14 in the Section II AA playoffs.

Next week’s rankings will be dramatically affected by the Catholic High School Football League AAA semifinals this week.

No. 1 Iona Prep will face No. 6 St. Anthony’s in one semi, while No. 3 Archbishop Stepinac plays No. 4 Monsignor Farrell in the other.

Out west, No. 2 St. Francis (Hamburg) faces No. 5 Canisius for the Monsignor Martin A Division football championship. On October 23, St. Francis beat the Crusaders 22-15 in overtime.
