Big shake-up in HSFA 300 national high school football rankings

The High School Football America 300 national high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, looks very different from last week. Only 53 teams find themselves at the same ranking they held last week.

The seismic shift was caused by two Top 25 teams losing this past weekend.

First, No. 5 Bergen Catholic saw its national championship dreams and 17-game win streak disappear in a decisive 31-7 loss to arch-rival Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey. DBP climbs from No. 95 to No. 50 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm. BC drops 47 spots to No. 52.

The other Top 25 team to lose was Georgia’s Grayson. The Rams lost 24-14 loss to Lowndes (Georgia), which brought the Vikings back into the HSFA 300 at No. 178. Grayson is No. 73 this week.

Those losses bring Archbishop Hoban (Ohio) and Langston Hughes (Georgia) into the Top 25 at No. 23 and No. 25 respectively.

As we head into the second part of the regular season, 18 teams in the Top 25 are undefeated. The other seven teams have only one loss and each was against teams inside the Top 25.

Overall, the HSFA 300 welcomes sixteen new teams this week:
