Grayson falls from No. 2 to No. 8 in the latest High School Football America Georgia Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football. The Rams tumble comes after a 24-14 loss to unranked Lowndes Friday night.

The win brings Lowndes back into the statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm. The Vikings are ranked No. 20 this week.

Lowndes return to the rankings sets-up a Top 25 head-to-head when it faces No. 12 in this week’s Winnersville Classic on Friday. Valdosta enters the 61st meeting between the two with a 36-24 lead in the all-time series.

Making this year’s game even bigger is the return of Valdosta to 7A Region 1.

Top-ranked Buford opens Class 7A Region 8 play against No. 14 Collins Hill this week. After a bye week, The Wolves will face No. 2 Mill Creek for what should be the region title.
