For the first time in 15 years, Lane Tech is off to a 3-0 start. As a result, the Chicago Bears have named Dedrick DeWalt as their Week 3 High School Coach of the Week.
DeWalt is in his second year as the head coach at the Chicago Public Schools system. He’s a Chicago native, who played his high school football at Simeon where he was All-State during his junior and senior years.

After playing at Boston College, the wide receiver spent a brief time in NFL with the Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Rams.

The Chicago Bears “Coach of the Week” program was launched in 1996. It honors outstanding Illinois high school coaches who develop players’ football skills and knowledge, character, leadership, discipline and teamwork abilities.
