The 2022 Alabama high school football season has been a fun one to watch with lots of twists-and-turns.

Auburn is still at the top of the latest rankings, created with our proprietary algorithm and powered by NFL Play Football. However, after the Tigers, only No. 8 Mountain Brooks holds its ranking from last week.

Three-time 7A champ Thompson continues to climb the rankings. The Warriors move-up three spots to No. 2 after handing former No. 2 Clay-Chalkville its first loss of the season. The 17-14 defeat of the defending 6A champs gives Thompson a four-game win streak after an 0-2 start.

This week, Thompson will take-on No. 6 Hewitt-Trussville in a region battle.

Back to top-ranked Auburn. The Tigers will host Opelika in a 7A Region 2 showdown.

Opelika has lost two in-a-row since beating Central (Phenix City) in overtime. The Bulldogs sit at No. 7 this week.

Auburn leads the region with a 4-0 mark. Central and Auburn are tied for second at 3-1.

Central and Auburn meet on October 14.

Theodore moves into the Top 10 at No. 9 after taking-down Opelika 34-24.

Hillcrest breaks into the statewide rankings at No. 10
