Iona Prep’s strength of schedule is keeping the Gaels at No. 1 in the latest High School Football America New York Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. The Gaels stay in the top-spot in-spite of its 48-42 loss to St. Anthony’s (Melville).

The win does move the Friars from No. 3 to No. 2 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm. It also vaulted the program into the High School Football America 300 national rankings at No. 199.

Right now, Iona Prep (No. 50), St. Anthony’s (No. 199) and Archbishop Stepinac (No. 237) are in our Top 300.

Iona Prep will try to get back into the win column this week when it travels to Stepinac on Saturday.

Right now, St. Anthony’s, Stepinac and Kellenberg Memorial sit atop the Catholic High School Football League AAA Division with 3-0 records. Iona Prep is 2-1 in league play.

New to the Top 10 this week is Lancaster after a 24-20 win over former No. 7 Canisius. The Legends are No. 10 in this week’s Top 10.
