The High School Football America rankings algorithm is being tested in South Carolina. For the second time in three weeks, reigning 4A champ South Pointe was beaten, but the Stallions are still ranked in the upper-half of the HSFA South Carolina Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football, thanks to a strong strength of schedule.

Catawba Ridge knocked-off SP 21-7, moving the Copperheads into the statewide rankings at No. 7. The Stallions fall from No. 3 to No. 4 this week.

What will next week bring?

No. 2 Gaffney’s game against No. 9 Spartanburg will have a role in the rankings. Spartanburg is on a three-game win streak after a 1-3 start.
