Romeo’s 21-17 defeat of former No. 6 Chippewa Valley shuffles the bottom half of the High School Football America Michigan Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. The Big Reds drop out of our statewide rankings and Rockford moves in at No. 10.

Top-ranked Belleville has a big game this week against Franklin. The winner will win the Kensington Lakes Activities Association East. Both teams enter the game 7-0 overall and 6-0 in league play.

Belleville’s defense has been outstanding this year. The Tigers have only allowed 47 points through seven games.

No. 2 Detroit Martin Luther King (5-1) will be going after another Detroit Public School League Division 1 title Friday night when it plays arch-rival Cass Tech (4-4). During the regular season, MLK beat the Technicians 28-23.
