The first round of the 2022 Tennessee high school football playoffs begin this weekend.

In Division I, Oakland will be looking for its third straight 6A state championship. The Patriots will open its Road to Chattanooga against 1-9 Shelbyville.

Oakland finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the High School Football America Tennessee Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. The Pats are also ranked No. 70 in our national rankings.

In all, ten Tennessee teams are ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings. Reigning Division II-AA champ Lipscomb Academy leads the way at No. 14 in the nation. The Mustangs get a first round bye this week.

McCallie, the state’s reigning Division II-AAA champ, will be looking for its fourth straight title. The Blue Tornado opens defense of its title against St. Benedict.
